Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
