Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
