(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
