Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
