Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
