Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 while you make merry? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
