HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 Thamud, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
