And the Thamud belied the warnings. 23 For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 (We told Salih), "Tomorrow they will know who is the most arrogant liar. 26 Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience; 27 Tell them that the water is to be divided between them, a drink each for them in turn' 28 But they called their companion who took hold of her and hamstrung her. 29 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 We sent down upon them a violent sandstorm (which destroyed them all) except for the family of Lot, whom We saved in the early morning by Our favor. 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 One early morning Our torment brought upon them utter destruction. 38 "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40
