(The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings 23 For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! 24 Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.” 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her). 29 Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 30 For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. 31 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 32 The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings. 33 We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning. 37 And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment. 38 "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran.
