The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
