The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
