The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
