The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
