The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created man 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
