The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
