The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 has created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
