The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and continuous shade, 30 and flowing water, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
