Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
