The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from the latter. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 and serried acacias, 29 And spreading shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 and abundant fruits, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
