The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like hidden pearls, 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 and spreading shade 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
