The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and continuous shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 and fruits abounding 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 on raised couches. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
