Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
59 verses, revealed in Mecca after Vanity (Al-Zukhruf) before Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 I swear by the Book that makes manifest (the truth). 2 that We sent down during a Blessed Night. We are ever warning. 3 Therein is decreed every affair of wisdom 4 As commands from Us. It is indeed We who send (messengers), 5 As mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 6 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you (but) have a faith with certainty. 7 There is no deity save Him: He grants life and deals death: He is your Sustainer as well as the Sustainer of your forebears of old. 8 Aye! they're in doubt sporting. 9 Then wait you for the Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke. 10 Which will envelop the people; this is a painful punishment. 11 Thereupon they will say, “O our Lord! Remove the punishment from us we now accept faith.” 12 How could this punishment bring them to their senses when a Messenger evidently had come to them, 13 Whereas they had then turned away from him and said, “He is a madman, tutored!”? 14 Surely We will remove the punishment a little, (but) you will surely return (to evil). 15 On the Day whereon We assault them with the greatest assault, verily We shall take vengeance. 16 ۞ We tried Pharaoh's nation before them. A noble Messenger came to them, 17 (and said): “Deliver to me Allah's servants. I am a trustworthy Messenger to you, 18 and, 'Rise not up against God; behold, I come to you with a clear authority, 19 I seek protection from my Lord and your Lord from your decision of stoning me. 20 And if ye will not believe in me, then let me alone. 21 Moses addressed his Lord, saying, "Lord, these people are sinners". 22 And [God said]: "Go thou forth with My servants by night, for you will surely be pursued; 23 And leave the sea in stillness. Indeed, they are an army to be drowned." 24 How many were the gardens and springs they left behind, 25 And crops and noble sites 26 And favours amongst which they were rejoicing! 27 Even so; and We caused to inherit them another people. 28 Neither heaven nor earth wept for them, nor were they allowed any respite. 29

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
