The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 And shade extended 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And made them virginal, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
