The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and banana trees, 29 and extended shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 and made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
