These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 And a large group from the latter. 40 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 41 [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury, 45 And used to persist in the awful sin. 46 And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? 47 We and our fathers of old? 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 you shall eat of a tree called Zakkoum, 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 and thereupon you shall drink boiling water, 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 We have created you, so why do you not believe? 57 Have you seen that which you emit? 58 Do ye create it or are We the Creator? 59 It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect? 62 Have you ever considered the seed which you cast upon the soil? 63 Do you make it grow or is it We who make it grow? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Do you send it down from the clouds, or We send it down? 69 Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74
