Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 Who hath created seven heavens in storeys. Thou shalt not behold in the Compassionate's creation any over-sight; then repeat thy look, beholdest thou any crack? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 Those who are bent on blaspheming against their Lord will have the punishment of Hell: an evil destination. 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error. 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 So they shall confess their sin. Far away they be, the fellows of the Blaze! 11 Verily! Those who fear their Lord unseen (i.e. they do not see Him, nor His Punishment in the Hereafter, etc.), theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
