Verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) are Gardens of delight (Paradise) with their Lord. 34 What! Shall We treat those who have submitted (to Our command) like those who have acted as criminals? 35 What has happened to you? How do you judge? 36 Or do you have a scripture in which you learn 37 that you will be granted whatever you choose? 38 Do you have a covenant with Us which allows you to do whatever you want until the Day of Judgment? 39 Ask them, who among them is a guarantor for it? 40 Or have they some "Partners" (in Allahhead)? Then let them produce their "partners", if they are truthful! 41 The Day that the shin shall be laid bare, and they shall be summoned to bow in adoration, but they shall not be able,- 42 Lowered will be their eyes, disgrace overwhelming them. They had indeed been called to bow in homage when they were free of blame. 43 Leave those who reject the Quran to Me and I shall lead them step by step to destruction, without their being aware of it. 44 And I do bear with them, surely My plan is firm. 45 Do you demand some recompense from them that would weigh them down with debt? 46 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? 47 Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed. 48 Had it not been for a favour from his Lord he would have been cast blame-worthy on a barren plain. 49 And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous. 50 And those who disbelieve would almost smite you with their eyes when they hear the reminder, and they say: Most surely he is mad. 51 Whilst it is no more than reminder for the people of the world. 52
