Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In high empyrean 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
