Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In a Garden on high, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 and raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
