Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
