Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
