Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 in an exalted garden 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
