Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and earth? Nay, but they have not sure faith. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord? Have they any authority over God? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 so leave them alone till they face the Day on which they will be struck dumb, 45 when their stratagem shall be of no avail to them, nor shall they be succoured. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
