Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: "O my Lord! Verily, I have called my people night and day (i.e. secretly and openly to accept the doctrine of Islamic Monotheism). 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. 12 ‘What is the matter with you, that you do not desire honour from Allah?’ 13 ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 And God has laid the earth for you as a carpet, 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20
