۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Are we not then to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
