Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 Worship God, have fear of Him and obey me. 3 He will forgive you your sins, and will defer you to an appointed term. Verily the term of Allah when it cometh shall not be deferred, if ye but knew. 4 He said: my Lord! Verily I have called my people night and day. 5 "But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth). 6 Evert time I invite them to Your (guidance) so that You can forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their clothes, persist in their disbelief and display extreme arrogance. 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 He will send you abundant 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
