Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. 12 Now that we have listened to the guidance, we believe in it. Whoever believes in his Lord does not need to fear loss or oppression. 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 but those who are wrongdoers will become the fuel of Hell." 15 And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
