Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 so much so that they came to think, as you [once] thought, that God would never [again] send forth anyone [as His apostle]. 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
