Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 So they began to think, even as you do, that God would not resurrect any one. 7 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; 14 but those who have deviated shall become the fuel of Gehenna (Hell). 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
