The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn, 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 And your garments do purify, 4 stay away from sins 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
