The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And all defilement shun! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that will surely be a hard day, 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me and him whom I created alone, 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 I shall soon constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then he thought; 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what will make you realize what hell is? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
