Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 labouring, weary, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And goblets set at hand 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
