The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise and warn, 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 Pollution shun! 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Leave to Me the one, whom I have created all by Myself, 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 Then looked he, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 We have appointed none but angels as the keepers of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for the unbelievers so that those who have been endowed with the Book will be convinced and the believers' faith will increase, and neither those who have been endowed with the Book nor the believers will fall into any doubt. As for those in whose hearts there is a sickness as well as the unbelievers, they will say: “What did Allah aim at by this strange parable?” Thus does Allah let whomsoever He pleases to go astray, and directs whomsoever He pleases to the Right Way. And none knows the hosts of your Lord but He. (And Hell has only been mentioned here) that people may take heed. 31
