The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 it will be a hard day 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 and children living in his presence, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I shall soon constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what will make you realize what hell is? 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels as the keepers of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for the unbelievers so that those who have been endowed with the Book will be convinced and the believers' faith will increase, and neither those who have been endowed with the Book nor the believers will fall into any doubt. As for those in whose hearts there is a sickness as well as the unbelievers, they will say: “What did Allah aim at by this strange parable?” Thus does Allah let whomsoever He pleases to go astray, and directs whomsoever He pleases to the Right Way. And none knows the hosts of your Lord but He. (And Hell has only been mentioned here) that people may take heed. 31
