No, by the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning to mankind, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
