By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
