By the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
