Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, and by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
