I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 concerning the sinners, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
