NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 as if they were startled asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
